Philippe Botteri is a Vice
President with Bessemer Venture Partners, a global investment group with
offices in Silicon Valley, Boston, New York, Mumbai and Tel Aviv. One of the
oldest venture-capital practices in the United States, BVP has partnered as an
active, hands-on investor in Ciena, LinkedIn, Postini, Skype, Staples,
VeriSign, W.R. Grace and Yelp. More than 100 Bessemer-funded companies have
gone public on exchanges in Canada, India, London and the United States.
Philippe focuses primarily on Cloud Computing, Internet and “Marketing 2.0” technologies in the US and Europe. His portfolio includes CornerstoneOnDemand, Eloqua, Intacct, Bizo, Criteo and Involver.
Before joining Bessemer in 2006, Philippe spent close to 10 years with the high-tech practice of McKinsey, in the US and Europe, specializing in the software, IT solutions and Internet industries. During his tenure with McKinsey, which he joined in Paris in 1998, Philippe led the development of "Web 1.0" Internet start-ups, was a key contributor the firm's work with "on-demand" software and advised clients on M&A, sales & marketing and growth strategies. His clients included multi-national corporations and private equity funds.
Philippe holds an M.S. in applied engineering from the Ecole des Mines, and an M.S. in science from the Ecole Polytechnique. He has also served in the French Navy. In addition to his native French, he is fluent in English and Italian.
